Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair: Call for Applications
Apply for #GNCCF Manchester & #GNCCFonline
The summer edition of GNCCFonline will take place in July, and October will see the much-welcome return of Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair Manchester. This live event will be held at one of the city’s favourite heritage attractions and cultural venues, Victoria Baths.
Applications are now invited from new and established designer-makers and recent graduates, working to the highest standards in ceramics, glass, jewellery, metal, leather, wood, interior textiles, fashion design & accessories, mixed media, basket-making, product design, furniture, print-making and more.
We are also looking for established makers, who are experimenting with new techniques/materials towards a new body of work, to apply for the Discuss showcase at GNCCF Manchester. Discuss is a free opportunity for successful applicants to engage the GNCCF audience in the process of their craft practice and to also get feedback. This showcase may suit makers who are current recipients of the Arts Council’s DYCP grant, or those in academic research.
For all our fairs, we welcome applications from diverse and talented makers from the UK and abroad, whatever their background or professional qualifications; we encourage applicants from those groups which are currently under-represented in the craft sector, particularly people who identify as BAME or disabled. All exhibitors are selected for their excellence by a panel of craft experts, based on their submitted images.
Successful applicants will benefit from extensive marketing and promotion and a range of affordable stand packages, including subsidised stands for new and graduate makers. In the event the live event cannot go ahead due to Covid-19 restrictions, full refunds will be given.
Now in its 14th year, the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair is nationally renowned and is the place in the North of England to buy and commission exceptional handmade work direct from professional designer-makers. Great Northern Events, is a not for profit organisation and is supported by Arts Council England with public funding from the National Lottery.

Great exposure in the North. The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair is on a par with the London shows and one of my favourite shows on the craft circuit.
