TEXTILE SOCIETY EVENT
Visit the Macc. Stripe collection to discover iconic textiles, includes a tour by the curator and behind the scenes viewing of items.
In 2020 the Silk Museum, Macclesfield was the well-deserved recipient of the prestigious Textile Society Museum, Archive and Conservation Award. Now the Society looks forward to sharing the successes of this project with its members.
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to visit the Macclesfield Stripe collection at the Silk Museum. Here you will discover the iconic 1920-1940s designs and learn how they are being conserved for future generations.
You will be treated to an exhibition tour with Curator Kathryn Warburton, and will have the opportunity to look behind the scenes and view additional pieces from the collection that are not currently on display.
This is the first time in decades that a selection of these striking and colourful pieces have been on display. Don’t miss it!
Places are limited. Book now! Members £5, non-members £15.
Disabled access available.
Please refer to Macclesfield Museums’ website for transport and parking information.
