Ecclesiastical Textiles Study Day

Fri 27th March 2015
10.25am-5pm. Registration 10am.

Wellcome Conference Centre
Euston Road, London (Op Euston Rail station)

‘Who Cares’ provided a platform for debate on a subject of increasing concern and was able to bring together for the first time those people who often care for church textiles in isolation. The feedback has been very encouraging. There clearly is a need to raise the profile of neglected and homeless textiles. As more churches close even more, often exquisitely embroidered pieces are discarded. We hope to help continue the dialogue.

Feedback

‘There's no doubt - it was a stimulating and clearly essential day!’

‘thank you for organising the study day on ecclesiastical textiles on Friday. It was such an interesting day, and very inspiring, despite the gravity of the threat to ecclesiastical textiles. It was a very good mix of people too and there was a real sense that everyone there cares passionately that a way forward is found.’

‘I just wanted to say thank for organizing such an interesting and thought-provoking conference.’

‘we thought that this day had been a long time coming,’

I found all the lectures so informative and helpful and giving much food for thought and action. The whole day was so inspiring meeting other like-minded people with the same passion for Ecclesiastical Embroidery.
