The beautifullest place on earth…so Edward Burne Jones described William Morris’ first home in 1860. Commissioned, created and lived in by Morris on his marriage to Janey, and designed by Phillip Webb. The rooms at Red House give a unique view of William Morris’ earliest designs and decorative schemes. Come and see the recently discovered Pre Raphaelite wall painting and his earliest wallpaper.

Drive to Hall Place for lunch followed by visit to an exhibition on David Evans, Silk printer at the Bexley Heritage Trust.
